Lucky Sport Cycling Team has taken a major step forward in its sporting journey by receiving its first-ever invitation to a ProSeries race. The team will line up at the 36th edition of the PostNord Tour of Denmark, marking a milestone moment in the continued development of the organization.
Earning an invitation to a ProSeries event has been one of the key objectives for the team this season. The ProSeries level represents the second-highest tier of professional road cycling, sitting just below the WorldTour. With the PostNord Tour of Denmark, Lucky Sport Cycling Team will make its debut at this level and gain the opportunity to race against some of the strongest teams and riders in the professional peloton.
The Tour of Denmark consists of five stages, starting in Aalborg and concluding in Rødovre, a municipality within Copenhagen, offering an exciting journey across the country. With Sweden and Denmark separated by only a bridge, the race feels close to home for the team, and with the final stage finishing in Copenhagen, we hope to see many Swedish supporters at the finish.
Erik Ekman, Head of Sport, on the ProSeries invitation
There is no secret that receiving a ProSeries invitation has been a clear focus for us, and it is something the riders have been dreaming about. With this invitation comes a great deal of responsibility and respect for the level of the race. We know we need to prepare thoroughly, but with the strong spring schedule we have built and the opportunity to race tough opposition throughout the season, I believe we can put together a strong team with a spirit that can be competitive on every stage.
In addition to the PostNord Tour of Denmark, Lucky Sport Cycling Team has also received several other high-tier invitations for the season, further strengthening an already ambitious race calendar. Some of these include:
Tour de Bretagne (UCI 2.2)
Rund um Köln (UCI 1.1)
Antwerp Port Epic / Sels Trophy (UCI 1.1)
Classic Grand Besançon Doubs (UCI 1.1)
Tour du Jura Cycliste (UCI 1.1)
Tour of Estonia (UCI 2.1)
These races provide a strong mix of one-day classics and demanding stage races, allowing the team to test itself across different formats and terrains against high-level international competition.
Erik Ekman on the expanded race calendar
I don’t think anyone in this team, riders or staff, could have imagined just a month ago that we would be lining up at races like these. We are getting a very good mix of one-day classics where we will go up against some of the best teams in the world, but also stage races like Tour de Bretagne. A full week of racing against development teams, with scouts and managers from ProTeams and WorldTour teams watching closely. It is the perfect platform for our riders to show their potential.
With these invitations, Lucky Sport Cycling Team continues to expand its international presence and accelerate its progression toward the higher levels of professional cycling. The full and updated race calendar can be found here
