Lucky Sport Cycling Team is proud to announce that Hjalmar Klyver has extended his contract with the team while also stepping into a new role off the bike as Head of Performance.
Hjalmar joined Lucky Sport in its inaugural season and quickly proved himself with consistent results and natural leadership. His experience and strong presence both on and off the bike made the decision to extend his contract an easy one. Over the summer, Hjalmar also expressed a desire to contribute beyond racing, taking on a management role focused on equipment, gear, and performance optimization. With his deep knowledge of bikes, clothing, and technology, he will play a key role in ensuring the team is well-equipped heading into 2026.
Rider Statement – Hjalmar Klyver
I am incredibly proud and excited to continue wearing the Lucky jersey in 2026. We have built a strong group and a real team spirit, and I look forward to contributing to that again next season. Lucky’s rapid development, combined with Oskar and Erik’s big vision, makes me convinced this is the right place for me to keep growing and take the next step in my cycling career.
At the same time, stepping into the organization as Head of Performance feels like a natural move for me. I am passionate about equipment and optimization, and I want to help create the best possible conditions for our riders to perform at the highest level.
General Manager – Oskar Ekman
It feels great to expand the management group and bring in more people who are deeply engaged in the team. Hjalmar, who is studying sport management, has a strong interest in contributing to the organizational side of the project alongside his ambitions as a rider. This is a perfect step for both him and the team.
Head of Sport – Erik Ekman
Hjalmar is a great guy and a natural leader. He has shown strong results this year – he was close to finishing 3rd overall in the Tour of Lithuania before an unfortunate crash – and he continues to impress us with his positioning and race instincts, particularly at Gooikse Pijl where he was at the front almost the entire last 30 km. With Hjalmar, we know we have a rider who can deliver on the road and a person who can contribute significantly off it as well.
