Lucky Sport Cycling Team is proud to announce the signing of Morthen Wang Baksaas, who joins the team on a contract running through the 2026 season.
Morthen, born in 2004 and hailing from Tønsberg, Norway, is an all-round rider with a fast sprint. Coming off a breakout 2025 season, he has impressed both nationally and internationally as part of the Norwegian National Team and Team Ringerikekraft.
Highlights 2025:
3rd place – Stage, Course de la Paix (Nations Cup)
6th place – Giro Himledalen (UCI 1.2)
2nd place – Stage & 4th place GC, 2nd place Youth GC, Tour of Lithuania (UCI 2.2)
2nd place – Mountains Classification, Arctic Race of Norway (2.Pro)
Multiple top national results across the Nordics and Belgium
One of his most eye-catching achievements came at the Arctic Race of Norway, where he won the iconic “100kg salmon prize” after a hard attack on the steep climb out of Husøya at the start of Stage 3. He went on to spend two of the four stages in the breakaway, finishing just one point shy of the climbers jersey.

Rider Statement – Morthen Wang Baksaas
“After a great season I am happy to join Lucky Sport. I am really looking forward to developing together with the team next season.”
Head of Sport Erik Ekman on the Signing
“With Morthen we get a rider who has shown he can keep up and compete against some of the world’s best riders. He brings both strength and valuable experience to the squad. As he continues in the U23 ranks next year, he will also be an important part of our younger group, giving us more options in both U23 and elite events.”
With this addition, Lucky Sport Cycling Team strengthens its roster for 2026 with one of Norway’s promising young riders, adding both firepower and depth to the squad as we prepare for the new season.
