Lucky Sport Cycling Team continues its rapid rise through the European peloton. In May, the team will line up at two UCI ProSeries races in France after receiving invitations to both Grand Prix du Morbihan and Tro-Bro Léon.

For a young team still in only its second season, these invitations represent a major milestone. The ProSeries is the second-highest level in professional cycling, just below the WorldTour, and gives the team the chance to race directly against some of the strongest teams and riders in the world.

The invitations to Grand Prix du Morbihan and Tro-Bro Léon become the second and third ProSeries invitations in Lucky Sport Cycling Team’s history, following the previously announced participation in the Tour of Denmark later this season.

To have secured three ProSeries invitations only 15 months after the project was first announced in Stockholm is something few could have imagined. When the team launched in December 2024, the ambition was clear: to build one of the most ambitious and forward-looking teams in Northern Europe. Now, less than a year and a half later, the team is being invited to races that many established Continental teams spend years trying to reach.

Perhaps most special of all is Tro-Bro Léon. The French classic, famous for its rough farm roads and unique atmosphere, will also mark the first time Lucky Sport Cycling Team receives an invitation from ASO, the organization behind the Tour de France.

For the riders and staff, that fact is not lost.

France is widely regarded as the heartland of cycling. The roads, the races, and the history carry a special weight within the sport. To be invited to race there at ProSeries level is both recognition of the progress already made and an opportunity to prove that the team belongs among the top Continental teams in Europe.

The timing of the invitations also reflects the strong start to the season. After opening the year against high-level opposition in Spain and carrying that momentum into the first spring races, the team has shown it can compete aggressively and perform well against stronger opposition.

Erik Ekman, Head of Sport

These kinds of invitations are not something I expected already this season. Everybody knows that France is the country of cycling, and I know every team at our level would jump at the chance to race events like these. We showed in Spain that we have a good level, and we carried that into the first spring races of the season. Now the team has a big opportunity to show itself, and I know everyone in our group is ready to take on the challenge.

For the management, these invitations are also proof that the project is moving faster than expected.

Oskar Ekman, General Manager

It is fantastic that already 15 months after launching the team, in December 2024, we are being given the opportunity to race at this level.

With a total of seven race days at ProSeries level this season, we are of course extremely pleased and will make sure to take the opportunities we are given against the world’s best teams.

In May, Lucky Sport Cycling Team will head to France with ambition, excitement, and respect. The level will be higher than ever before, but so too are the team’s ambitions.
